That Hurdle Number

I distinctly remember while starting the church in Bullhead City we would often reach hurdle numbers: numbers that we just could not hurdle for some time. Currently ours is thirteen.

Yesterday for example we again had, you guessed it, thirteen. Now if our main family had been in attendance we would have cleared our hurdle but the husband was in Patagonia, Arizona looking for employment. Actually I am quite encouraged by it all!

First of all because it shows some faithfulness of vision. We have Sunday morning regulars, Sunday night regulars and Wednesday night regulars. Now if they will allow God to move them to be regulars for every service. Second it shows a frequency of visitors. The first Sunday of this year we had two first time visitors while yesterday we again had two more first time visitors.

Those Hopeful Numbers:

Each week we have many promises. Yesterday we had several promises, one from a man from the Dominican Republic to visit although he did not show up. We were surprised by a visitor from France that one of our families brought (although we did not count the poodle). Miquel Garcia is a professional baseball player for the Membrillillos, Magdalena's team. He is our contact from the Dominican Republic and like every other contact God gives us we cherish your prayers with us for his salvation.

Anyway, one by one we realize that each one must be won by one and that the battle is won one by one. Please continue to be one of those that fervently pray for the work here in Magdalena.

A Very Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year From Our Family To Yours

THE LAST UPDATE FOR 2009
With only one day left in the year this will more than likely be the last update. Of course it is somewhat overdue! Since receiving the mission's trip group from our home church and the various help from our fellow churches farther south we have been busy following up with the contacts gathered and the decisions made. I would like to report of the hundreds or even dozens of visitors we have had - I would like to - but then I would be lying! We have had one man attending faithfully on Sunday mornings, one family that comes frequently, and we have had a high attendance of thirteen. Not necessarily the greatest numbers to report but we have stayed busy serving and will trust God for His timing and growth.
We do look forward to this coming year and to what God has in store for us here in Mexico. We have been busy in breaking up the fallow ground and will continue to sow more seed of the Word of God. Please help us water the seed sown with tears in prayer for true biblical salvation of souls here in Magdalena.

For the salvation of souls.

Serving God is Great!

A Fabulous Work Part 4A

Serving God is great! It has been very hard most of the time. Serving God has been very taxing a lot of the time. Serving God has cost us dearly in every work we have been involved in, but serving God is great!
Now it is time to follow up on all of these that have professed faith in Jesus Christ as their Saviour. This will be a time consuming work but it will also open other doors of opportunity. I am reminded that “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:” Acts 2:41. Pray with us that God would continue to move in the lives of those that have made decisions for Him and through them raise up His church here in Magdalena.

A Fulfilling Week -Part 3A

I want to share some numbers with you but I also want to remind you that these numbers are the culmination of you having faithfully supported us for almost a year here in Magdalena. This is the evident growth of the past year of faithfully breaking up fallow group, sowing seed, watering with tears and of God giving the increase.
On Wednesday God blessed the group with 28 professions of salvation. On Thursday God blessed with another 12 professions of salvation from visitation and the service. On Friday God gave us another 7 professions of salvation. On Saturday another 20 made professions of salvation. Sunday morning we had 4 first-time visitors in our services with 3 professions of salvation and on Sunday evening we had the same 4 visitors with 4 more.
