35 in Attendance
I would surely like to claim that for our own work here in Magdalena but these are pictures of another missionary's work in Santa Rita and in El Claro. This elderly missionary needed to be gone for a few weeks and we are watching his work for him. It is good practice for Spanish preaching and makes us look forward to the day when we have a good start like this.

Work Day
Work Days are always things that are needed in a church work but what if there is no "church" yet. Well thank God for a family willing to serve the Lord! We recently spent a day freshening up the outside of our building. Peggy and the girls cleaned inside while Ezra pressure washed the outside to get it ready to paint and I dug out the overgrowth of weeds. It was a hot day but the family stayed with it and got the job done - well done family, THANK YOU!

Pastor Wayne Burke Update
PASTOR WAYNE BURKE UPDATE:
God has seen fit to bring Pastor Wayne Burke back from the very brink of death. A week ago the doctors did not hold much hope for his survival after his emergency quadruple by-pass surgery. Things looked very bleak and the family had been called in and we had begun preparations for a trip to Kansas and Ohio. Now, just a week later, plans are completely different! Pastor Wayne Burke has been out of ICU since Tuesday and it looks as though he will be heading home by this weekend. He is excited with the prospect of being given more time on this earth to serve the Lord. For the complete story you can go to http://cozaddalechronicles.blogspot.com/ and get the inside scoop from his son, Pastor Travis Burke, and from his daughter, Chrystal Snell.
PASTOR RAY CHAMBERLIN:
I would also like to add another family and church to your prayer list. Pastor Ray Chamberlin and the Faith Baptist Church of Cynthiana, Kentucky would appreciate your prayers. Pastor Ray Chamberlin pastored the Faith Baptist Church faithfully till his retirement when his son became pastor. Pastor Ray Chamberlin has been in a fight with cancer and is about to win the victory through death. Please pray for this dear family and church.

Look Who Came To Church
LOOK WHO CAME TO CHURCH:
We have moved our services from our house to our rental building since the young people of our summer camp helped us pass out those 900 plus tracts. The building is really not ready and we plan to have an official first service still in the future but we want to be there in the meantime. I will also be filling in for an elderly missionary for the next six weeks and wanted to wait till after that obligation before an official start. In the meantime God has seen fit to bring some along. Oscar and Andrea lived next door till about a month ago. Oscar had stopped by yesterday to chat with Ezra and Ezra gave him another invitation to church and he committed to come. It was exciting to have Oscar and Andrea and their daughter Andrea in our services. The message was simple: The Privilege of Prayer. I. The Possibilities of Prayer (Endless) II. The Power of Prayer (Omnipotence of God) III. The Prevention of Prayer (Sin) - that God will not hear the prayer of sinners except for repentance and that salvation gives us a hearing with God!

Urgent Prayer Request
Our former pastor and best friend is in need of your urgent prayers. Pastor Wayne Burke who served the Lord so faithfully as our pastor and is now pastor of the Hillcrest Bible Baptist Church in Arkansas City, Kansas is in intensive care after undergoing a quadruple by-pass. The latest report is that he is not doing well and the doctor has advised the family to all come to his side.We would appreciate your prayers for Pastor Wayne Burke and for his family. This is a photo I have taken from Mrs. Burke's face book (taken in December of 2008). You are welcome Pastor Burke and can have a talk to me about posting such a picture when you get well!

TIJUANA TRIP:
One of the churches at camp this year came from Tijuana, Baja South California (just across the U.S. / Mexico border at San Diego, California. That is about 480 miles from us and takes a good long 12 hours to make. On their way to camp one of their two vehicles broke down (they over-heated the motor to the point that it will have to be replaced). On Monday I sent my car trailer out the four hours they were still away to pick up the truck and rescue the poor young men stranded with it in the desert. No shade - no water - nowhere near a town and 107 degrees! They got in at 2 A.M. After camp there was still the question of getting them home since the motor was not repairable. They were 23 in all in one S-10 pickup and a 12 passenger van. We put eight in my truck and the rest in their van. Abigail and I have now been to Tijuana and points in between
Tijuana here we come
