Missions

It is my conviction that every missionary and every mission work should be fully involved in the work of missions.  That may seem to be a paradoxical statement but observed practice would indicate the need to make just such a statement.  I am appalled at the number of missionaries I know that do not participate in helping other missionaries nor teach their own works to help reach the world for Christ.

Here in Magdalena at the Iglesia Bautista de Magdalena we began supporting a national missionary from the very beginning.  Our people have yet to grasp the Biblical importance of the matter but they are learning.  One of the best ways to help them learn is to avail ourselves of the opportunities God gives us to have any willing local church missionary come by an present his burden and calling to the people.  Our latest opportunity was the Manuel Robles family who are Mexicans headed for Panama.  I have know Brother Robles for most of my time here in Mexico and he has served his home church and pastor faithfully as assistant.  They have just begun the deputation road to raise the financial support they are required to have as Mexicans to be allowed entrance into Panama.  We enjoyed the morning service with them and of course a convivio (pot luck) was required!

It is my prayer that this work will grow into a church with a true heart for missionary work around the world.

After all:  God had but one Son, and He sent Him as a missionary!
